I. SHIELD Ministries Application Process
Step 1 - Complete the Prescreening Application for SHIELD Ministries Re-Entry Educational Program
Step 2 - Scan in pdf and email to info@shieldministries.org
Step 3 - Upon approval, Complete the Phase II SHIELD Ministries Post-Release Application Agreement
Step 4 - An interview will be setup
Step 5 - A final decision will be made and notification will be sent out after the interview
II. SHIELD Ministries Application for the Post-Release Program for Graduates of Pre-release Men in Transition (MIT) Pre-release
Step 1 - Complete the Post Release Program Application for MIT Graduates
Step 2 - Scan in pdf and email to info@shieldministries.org
Step 3 - An interview will be setup
Step 4 - A final decision will be made and notification will be sent out after the interview
Participants on Probation with the SC Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services may be eligible for Program Fee Assistance during the first 30 days of program.
Please provide your Probation SID number on the application to verify eligibility. This program is funded by SC Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services. SHIELD Ministries is one of several organizations in South Carolina who received this award. The application and acceptance process included property tours and review of SHIELD policies and procedures.
Please note that men who will be/are on Supervised Release from Probation must obtain approval for their resident address by the Charleston County Probation, Parole and Pardon services office.
The Shield Ministries Program is a life transformational educational program and is not a temporary shelter.
All applicants must thoroughly read and agree to all of the guidelines, rules and regulations before scheduling an interview. The application converts to a contractual agreement upon final admittance into the facility.

Applicants who do not have a picture id (either a drivers license or an id from the Hwy department) and/or a social security card should begin the process of obtaining their ids before entering the program.
Accepted Applicants must call and speak to a staff member (843)860-6462, prior to arrival on check in date and must meet with a Shield Ministries Representative before entering the facility at 5519 Woodbine Ave. North Charleston, SC 29406.
