Dr. Rev. Louis A.B. Venable: Chairman

Rev. Venable currently serves as Pastor at Loris First Baptist Church in Loris, SC.  Rev. Venable. Louis earned his Master's and Doctor of Pastoral Theology from Southeastern Baptist and Andersonville Theological Seminaries.  Louis is also graduate of the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics.  Rev. Venable served in the U.S. Navy for ten years and is a Lt. Cmdr in the U.S. Naval Reserve.  He is married and has three children.

Chaplain David Golden:

Chaplain Golden has Bachelor of Arts from Taylor College, a Masters of Divinity degree from Ansbury Theological Seminary, and a Master of Theology degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.  He was an active duty U.S. Army chaplain from 1970-1999 and retired with the rank of Colonel.

He served in Vietnam as the 1st Armored Division chaplain.  He also graduated from the U.S. Army Command/General Staff in 1984 and the U.S. Army War College in 1991. He served as chaplain and Director of Religious Activities at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina from 1999-2009.  He is married and has two daughters and three grandchildren.

Mr. Stacey Strickland:

Mr. Strickland possesses a MBA and a BS in Civil Engineering from The Citadel in 1980.  He is currently employed as a Nuclear Safety Analyst.  Stacey additional serves Shield Ministries as worship leader, musician and Celebrate Recovery Leader.

Melodie A Truluck: Treasurer (Program Coordinator)

Mrs. Truluck possesses a Bachelors of Science Degree from Southern Wesleyan University and serves as the Housing Director of Shield Ministries.  Former Senior Financial Analyst for SCRA; Office manager for The Citadel Military College Melodie’s professional experience includes computer programming, management,  data integrity management, and process improvements.  Over the last 30 years Melodie has served in Evangelism, Bible Study leader, has served in various Missions programs locally and internationally, Children’s Ministry, Prayer Ministry and as Event Planner for many ministry and non-ministry functions. Melodie currently volunteers as  Praise and Worship leader for Shield Ministries.  Melodie  has authored the book “In Pursuit” published by Tate publishing (2013) and two evangelistic dramas, “Blameless” and “Opportunity Knocks” and written the Narrative for The Nativity and The Family Interactive Nativity.
